Wal-Mart Credit Card:
Wal-Mart Stores, Inc is an American public corporation founded by Sam Walton in 1962. It is the largest retailer in the world and stands second when it comes to revenue. Also it is the largest private employer in the United States. Internationally Wal-Mart operates in United Kingdom, Japan, Mexico, China and many other countries also.
Wal-Mart operates Sams club, a chain of warehouse clubs that sell groceries and other general merchandise. They also sell gasoline. Sams Club stores are open only for those customers who subscribe to an annual membership. There are around 570 Sams Clubs in the United States.
Wal-Mart aims to provide the best facilities to its comsumers. One such benefit is that they offer credit cards which make it convenient for the customers to make purchases without the hassle of carrying cash with them.
Types of Credit Cards offered by Wal-Mart:
Wal-Mart offers two great credit cards for which customers need not pay the annual fee which usual credit cards have. These two cards are the Wal-Mart Discover Card and the Wal-Mart Credit Card.
Earlier Wal-Mart offered credit cards that could only be used in their stores. However now it offers a choice of Discover Card that you can use at most of the businesses that accept credit cards and another card that is a retail type card that can be used only at their stores and Sams Club stores. When it comes to their comparison the Discover card offers more value than the retail card since you can earn a cash back of around 1% on the Discover Card. However, a unique benefit of this Retail card is that you can save upto 3 cents per gallon of gas if you purchase at their stores. Generally, if you want to get a discount on your gas purchase, you need to purchase a Wal-Mart Gift Card. However, using the retail card will allow you to save these 3 cents without using the gift card. So you need not purchase one.
Note that Wal-Mart accepts credit cards issued by U.S banks only that are Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and Wal-Mart Discover. They do not accept credit cards issued by foreign (non U.S) banks.
