The University of Massachusetts Boston is a public research university located in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. It is one of the five campuses of the University of Massachusetts system and is the only public university in Boston. The university was established in 1964 as a satellite campus of the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and it became a full-fledged campus in 1974.
UMass Boston is a diverse and welcoming community, with students from over 100 countries and all 50 states. The university offers more than 170 undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide range of disciplines, including the arts, humanities, social sciences, business, education, nursing, and the sciences.
