Choosing Flowers

There are many kinds of flowers to choose from and if you don't have a favorite, you can opt for single large folowers like roses, gerebras, delicate carnations, bunches of daisies or baby's breath...the choice and colors are quite amazing. While choosing flowers, keep the background and the upholstery of the room in mind.

Types of flower arrangements Single Buds

Choose a single bud with its stem about twice the height of the vase in which you want to place it. You can choose just one stem with a bud or several stems. To enrich its beauty cut the stem with some leaves. Alternatively you can add some leafy stems that do not shift the focus away from the buds. The leaves should be tall and thin so as to merge and serve as a background for the buds to stand out.

You can use a tall vase, a long glass or a perfume bottle for Single Bud Arrangement.

Full Blown Bunches

Choose full blown flowers with strong petals that do not wither or break easily. The flowers should have just bloomed and fresh. All the flowers chosen should be able to stay fresh for sometime otherwise the whole arrangement will lose its charm.

On a dinner table, flower arrangements should not obstruct the view of people at the table. You shouldn't have to peep over the flowers to talk to others. It is absolutely necessary to choose flowers which are not very strong smelling and with colors that set the right mood for a great dinner. A basket arrangement with a wide basket and small flowers are the best. Slim vases can also be so chosen.
