Driving on high ways and Hilly roads:

- While climbing down a Hilly road, do not bring the gear to natural. Always climb down in the 2nd or 3rd gear.

- When the visibility is poor, use fog lights. Never ride on a foggy Hilly road with out fog lights.

- Always give a preference to vehicles climbing upon the hilly road.

- An oncoming vehicle with one malfunctioning headlight could be a dangerous customer. You may even be stumped to identify the right or left side of the vehicle. Watch out for these vehicles.

- Never hit at the wheel or ride on a highway or a hilly road if you feel drowsy or fatigued.

- When you wish to overtake a vehicle operate the dipper switch a few times. Overtake only when you get a signal a few times. Overtake only when you get a signal from the driver in front of you. Never overtake when there is an oncoming vehicle. A small error could land three vehicles in an accident and could lead to loss of human lives.

- If you approach a bridge or a narrow stretch of road where only one vehicle can pass, operate the dipper switch a few times to warn any oncoming vehicle. If he does not heed your warning allow him to pass first and then cross over.

MAINTAIN CLEAN YOUR CAR EXTERIORS:

Tips to clean windows: Several branded glass cleaners are available in the market. Do not use ammonia based cleansers. Ammonia is harmful to leather, rubber and vinyl, if you feel your car deserves. Something more than pure water, going for citric acid, alcohol or mechanical cleaners. Make sure to clean the corner of windows well. Clean the inside of the windshield from the passenger side of the car safety. This has fewer obstructions and you can see clearer. Do not use silicon based products on the glass. It is a good idea to add some shampoo to the water that squirts on the windshield.

Tips to wash your car: Before you begin to wash, please remember to keep your car windows closed. Does not use dish washing detergents to wash your car? As far as possible, use natural washing tools like cotton cloth or washing mitt. These are gentle with your paint and are great for absorbing water. Fabric upholstery is the most difficult to maintain. It soils and stains easily. The best way to keep it clean is to wash it with good old detergent and water. But first make sure the color does not run. Empty your bucket and fill with clean plain water and rinse the upholstery with clear water. Use as little water as possible but rinse thoroughly.

If the interiors are leather, it needs to be cleaned one section at a time. Dark coloured leather needs a cleaning once or twice a year, but light coloured leather upholstery need cleaning more often. The leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth.

HOW TO KEEP ENGINE HEALTHY?

To keep your engine healthy, all you have to do is keep it clean. Do it every few months. Remove all debris from your hood, the vent openings and the grills with a brush. Cover all sensors, the distributor, spark plug openings and any other electrical devices that allow water to accumulate. Use rubber bands to secure the car safety plastic bags around the parts. Apply an engine degreaser. Do not use petroleum based cleaners in your engine compartment. They can spoil rubber and vinyl components and are harmful to the environment. Instead use citrus based cleaners.

- Do not use the clutch as a foot rest. It should be used only while changing gears.

- Do not brake unnecessarily and avoid hard braking.

- Service your car regularly. A diesel car needs to be serviced every 5,000 K.M. of running while a petrol one needs to be service every 10,000 K.M.

- Run the car AC every week for l5 to 10 minutes.

- Insist on tyre rotation at every service.

- Do not rest your hand on the gear shift lever while driving.

- Do not use a dry cloth to wipe car paint.

- Use only vacuum cleaner for the passenger compartment.

- Do not run the wiper dry on the windscreen.
